Call For Art: Five Stars Regional Exhibition

The Mosesian Center for the Arts invites artist members of the art associations from Dedham, Needham, Newton, Watertown and Wellesley to submit original artwork for the upcoming Five Stars Regional Exhibit. The title of “Five Stars” for the exhibit is based on the five art associations that are collaborating and exhibiting together as a unique first. Our goal is to provide a juried and judged exhibit opportunity for artist members that will be open and accessible to the public. 

Member artists are invited to submit original artworks in the following mediums: painting, drawing, and printmaking. The mediums that are not eligible are digital art, photography and 3-D art. Prints / reproductions of original artwork are not eligible. The artwork should have been created in the last five years and not previously displayed at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. All art work must be the artist’s original design in concept and execution (e.g., from life or from the artist's own idea or reference photo; completely executed by the artist’s own hand. No size limitation. 

The exhibition will take place in the Mosesian gallery spaces located on the first and second floors which are handicap-accessible. $1000 In Cash Awards will be announced at the Reception on April 12th at the Mosesian Center for the Arts. Deadline for Submissions -- Monday, March 11, midnight
Artist Notifications – Saturday, March 16, via e-mail
Drop Off – Saturday, March 30, 11 am – 1 pm
Exhibit Opens –Thursday, April 4
Public Opening Reception/Awards Ceremony – Friday, April 12, 5:30 – 7:30 pm
Show Closes -- Friday, May 10
Art Pick Up -- Saturday, May 11, 11 am – 1 pm

Please note that the Mosesian Center for the Arts reserves the right to make minor adjustments to the exhibition timeline. Artists will be notified of final dates in their acceptance letters.

Eligibility:

Open to members of the art associations of Dedham, Needham, Newton, Watertown and Wellesley. Members who belong to more than one of the five art associations should select one association for his or her submission. One entry per artist. Accepted artists’ work must be received at the Mosesian Center for the Arts, 321 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472 by March 30 at 1 pm. If you are an accepted artist and are not able to drop off artwork between 11 am – 1 pm on March 30th, you are asked to find a delegate who will deliver your work for you. The Mosesian Center for the Arts carries appropriate insurance to cover all artwork in the show for the duration of the exhibition, including the time frame of drop-off, installation, de-installation and pick-up.

Submission Fee:

$20 per submission plus $1.31 online processing fee. Limit one submission per artist. Commission Structure:

Artists receive 60% commission, the Mosesian Center for the Arts receives 20% and the respective art associations receive 20% for art sold during the exhibition. The Artist reserves all copyrights and reproduction rights on the artwork in the exhibition. Mosesian Center for the Arts may duplicate and reproduce images of work for purposes of public relations and exhibition announcements directly related to the exhibition.
